It's so important to remember that challenges can be overcome, even very difficult ones. I love that fairy tales show this... no matter how long it takes, things will turn out for the best. I fully believe that.

The new year started with lots of laughter from the humans and quite a few tears. They had discovered something called "Doctor Who," and they seemed to be having very strong emotions about it. I had discovered something, as well - Disney Fairies books. A set of beautifully illustrated books about Tinker Bell's friends? Yes please! I was in the middle of a book about Vidia, a fast flying fairy, when I heard loud singing.

I knew it wasn't MyLittleMegara's voice, so I decided to check it out.

Putting my book down, I walked in the direction of the noise.

"Flower gleam and glow
Let your power shine..."

It's the healing incantation from Tangled, I thought. Whoever was singing had a good voice. She actually sounded like Mandy Moore, who voices Rapunzel in the movie! When the singer got to the line "save what has been lost," I could see her. Not only did she sound like Rapunzel - she looked like her, too.

When she finished her song, I waved. "Hello!" I exclaimed.

The Rapunzel doll started. "Oh! Hello."

"I'm Anna," I smiled.

"I'm Rapunzel."

"Are you new here?"

"Yes! I've only been here for a few months."

"A few months? And you haven't met anybody yet?"

"Well, no," Rapunzel began to explain.

"You see, I was one of MyLittleMegara's review dolls. The process of getting all of those pictures of my articulation and such took a lot longer than she was expecting. After that was done, I felt a bit shy. I was a little tired of having all of the attention on me, and I wasn't sure what kind of dolls were here. Not to mention that MyLittleMegara has been very busy lately so she didn't introduce me to anyone."

I didn't think watching hours and hours of British television counted as busy, but I kept that to myself.

"Well, I'm glad to meet you! I only wish we could've met sooner. The dolls here are very nice. I think you'll fit right in." I reassured Rapunzel.

"I'm glad to hear it. What's your story?"

I'll admit I was a little surprised by the frankness of her question, but I found that I was happy to share. I filled her in on the basics of how long I'd been here, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, and what I liked to do. When I told her I liked to read, she got very excited.

"Have you read any of the Disney Fairies books? I've been reading them while I've been down here."

"Yes, actually, I'm in the middle of one right now! Vidia and the Fairy Crown."

"Oh, that's one of my favorites! I love the illustrations."

"Do you want to read it with me?"

Rapunzel beamed.

I think I may have made a new friend. It will be very nice to not be the only girl in our group for a change! I'm outnumbered 3 to 1!

My first Christmas in MyLittleMegara's house came and went in a cloud of beautiful music and bright colors. I heard a story about a baby boy who saved the world and even though I didn't completely understand it, Christmas was an absolutely beautiful occurrence. But it had to end. After all, if Christmas were all year 'round, we would stop seeing it as special. A couple of days after Christmas, MyLittleMegara decided to watch Frozen. Again. Since Kristoff and I were downstairs by the TV anyway, we decided to watch too.

Even though I've seen my movie countless times, I still love the feeling I get watching it. It has such a positive message of hope, no matter how hard it may get.

This time watching it was different, though. Kristoff had never seen it before, and I found myself watching it through his eyes. I think he enjoyed it. However, when a half-frozen Anna began crossing the fjords to find her sister, he did something a little strange.

I suppose that what he did really wasn't that strange. Most friends do this sort of thing. After all, that's what we are: good friends. Still, when Kristoff put his arm around me, I found it difficult to focus on anything other than the solid, warm presence at my back.

From there on, the movie progressed. Anna and Elsa learned how to save the day with their sisterly love and the kingdom went back to normal. Happy music played. Suddenly, Anna and Kristoff ran on wearing outfits nearly identical to what we were wearing. They were holding hands and smiling.

Without warning, Kristoff got up. "I forgot to feed Sven," he mumbled.

"Oh, okay," I smiled at him. "Bye!"

But he was already gone. Typical.

We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Posts for Easter and an Award

I can't believe I've had this blog for over a year now! It seems only yesterday I was celebrating my first Easter with all of you. I am so, so blessed to have such a lovely and supportive blogging community right here at my fingertips! Thank you all for being so kind.

1. What flavor of Neapolitan ice cream is your favorite?

Chocolate. Always. All the chocolate.

2. Do you like wearing messy buns or two braids better?

I prefer two braids. I think MyLittleMegara would go ballistic if I restyled my hair, anyway.

3. Do you like Valentine's Day or Halloween better?

Valentine's Day. Chocolate and spending time with special people are two of my favorite things, so combining them is just about the best thing ever.

4. Would you rather go to Brazil or France for vacation?

I think France would be nice. I like French food (pastries and chocolate and such.)

5. If you could have one Disney Princess dress, what one would you choose?

I'd love a green striped coat.

7. Who is your favorite villain?

I'd have to say that I really love the classic Disney Maleficent. She's such a gorgeous design.

I don't like nail polish. The smell gives me a headache.

9. What would your dream socks look like?

Pale green with the rosemaling from my skirt printed on them.

10. Sausage or bacon?

Bacon!

11. Would you rather have snowflake or tropical flower printed pants?

According to MyLittleMegara, this is the time of year that we should be especially thankful. I don't know what makes this time any better for gratefulness than any other, but I can tell you one thing I'm glad for - I got to go back outside today!

It was right in the afternoon when the sun starts to come down in the sky and set everything aglow.

Despite the air's chill, I was overjoyed to be outside again.

This tree may have shed its leaves, but I still think it is lovely.

The sky was the same pale blue as my shirt!

I could've stayed outside forever.

Suddenly, something lying on the ground caught my attention.

I went over to investigate and found a dry, curled up leaf.

For some reason, I found it fascinating. That same leaf had been vibrant and green when I was last outside. Now it was small and crunchy and brown.

I studied it for a few moments before going back inside where Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven were waiting.

In late September, I found out that Kristoff could play the Lute. Once I had that knowledge, I made it my mission to convince him to play for me. After several weeks, he finally broke down and agreed.

It was unbelievable! I couldn't believe my ears. I had expected a nice, amateur sound to come out of Kristoff's instrument. Instead, a beautiful, heartfelt melody flew from his fingers. Simple, but rich in tone.

When he finished, I clapped, then looked him dead in the eyes. "That was fantastic."

"Thank you," Kristoff said seriously.

I opened my mouth, about to say something else when a voice broke into our conversation.

"HEY GUYS!"

It was Olaf.

"Guys, I have to show you this!"

I laughed. "What is it?"

"No," Olaf shouted, "you have to come down here!"

Kristoff and I climbed off of the cabinet and followed the little snowman,

"Look," Olaf whispered, breaking our chain and picking something up off of the ground.

Kristoff and I exchanged a quick glance, then took the paper from him.

"Oh my gosh," I breathed.

"This is you," Kristoff sounded somewhat awestruck.

In our hands was a beautiful portrait of... me.

"Meritre sent it to MyLittleMegara in an email," Olaf explained. "Meritre drew it herself!"

I was stunned speechless. Imagine that somebody enjoyed my blog enough to actually draw a picture of me!

"Well," I said when I finally could, "There's only one way I can think of to really show our thanks." I told the boys my plan, and we got MyLittleMegara to take this picture.

Meritre, thank you so so so so SO MUCH!
